Privacy Policy — MyFit Coach

MyFit Coach is an iOS app for fitness and nutrition coaching, developed and provided by Service Dienst Groningen B.V. ("we", "us"). We take your privacy seriously and handle the data you enter into the app with care. This policy describes what data the app processes, why, whom (if anyone) we share it with, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

In short:

Your data is stored locally on your iPhone — there is no user account and no central database.
No tracking, no analytics, no ads.
Only when you have a meal photo analysed or scan a barcode does that specific data leave the device (to Anthropic Claude and Open Food Facts respectively).
Delete the app and your data is gone.

3. No accounts, no backend database

MyFit Coach works without registration or login. We keep no central user database. All of your personal data — including the categories above — is stored solely on your iPhone (SwiftData, plus any iOS-managed iCloud backup you may have enabled, under Apple's terms).

4. Sharing with third parties

4.1 Anthropic (Claude AI, via Cloudflare Worker)

When you use the AI coach or have a meal photo analysed, the text or image is forwarded through a Cloudflare Worker we operate to the Anthropic API (model: Claude). This is required to perform the AI analysis; Anthropic acts as a processor under the GDPR.

Anthropic processes the content solely to generate a response and, per their policy, does not use API inputs to train their models.
Anthropic retains API inputs briefly for abuse and safety monitoring per their own retention terms; see anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Transfer may occur to servers outside the EEA (United States). Anthropic uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as its transfer mechanism.
The Cloudflare Worker functions only as a proxy: it attaches the API key and does not log the content of your prompts or photos.

4.2 Open Food Facts

When you scan a barcode, we send the barcode string to the public API of Open Food Facts to fetch product information. No personal data is included. Open Food Facts logs technical requests according to their own policy.

4.3 Apple

The app runs on iOS and uses Apple frameworks (HealthKit, StoreKit for TestFlight, and possibly iCloud backup). Apple's privacy policy applies to those processing activities.

4.4 Others

We do not share data with any other parties. There is no analytics SDK, no ad network and no third-party tracking in the app.

5. Retention

Because your data resides solely on your iPhone, you decide how long it is kept. It remains as long as the app is installed and you have not manually deleted it. Uninstalling MyFit Coach causes iOS to delete all associated data (except for the data you have in Apple Health — that stays in Apple Health and is managed there). Photos sent to Anthropic are not stored by us; Anthropic retains API inputs only briefly, as described in 4.1.

6. Security

Traffic between the app, our Cloudflare Worker and Anthropic is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Local data is stored in the iOS-protected app container and benefits from standard iOS encryption as long as your device is locked with a passcode.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

Access — all data MyFit Coach processes about you can be viewed directly in the app; there is no separate database.
Rectification — you can edit your data in the app at any time.
Erasure — you can delete all your data by uninstalling the app, or by removing individual items from within the app. Revoke HealthKit permissions via Settings › Privacy › Health.
Restriction or objection — you can simply choose not to use certain features (e.g. AI analysis).
Portability — an export feature is in development; until then, you can request an export at the email address below.
Lodging a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl) or your local supervisory authority.

8. Children

MyFit Coach is not directed at children under 16. If you are younger, please use the app only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

9. Changes

We may update this policy if the app or the services involved change. The most recent version is always published on this page, with the "last updated" date at the top.
